Chill #1

Okay. I know it's been a while but I haven't had any ideas as to what to post...until now.

This is an issue that has been bothering me for forever and I don't know if it's going on because people are oblivious or because they jump to conclusions.

Either way, here we go!

I've seen countless times in magazines, on youtube, on tumblr, on anything that people hate when others cannot take a compliment. Typically it is regarding how a girl cannot take a compliment from a guy, but this sort of thing works both ways.

For the sake of this post, I'm going to use the situation of a boy complimenting a girl just so nothing gets confusing.

_________________________________________________________________________________

A boy tells a girl she looks pretty, the girl says "no, I don't think so" the boy automatically thinks she's just looking for another compliment, fishing for compliments, and proceeds to think the girl is full of it.

Same thing happens if a girl posts a picture online saying she doesn't look her best. People jump to the conclusion she is fishing for compliments.

Then this happens:

No.

I know I cannot speak for everyone which means that everyone is different. But this sort of thing makes me sick. YOU CANNOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS.

Like I said, everyone is different, but I'm confident I am not alone when I say it isn't always about not taking a compliment or about looking for more compliments.

There is a whole other level to this that most people don't realize.

The girl may not see what you see.

You tell a girl she rocks, she says she doesn't really, that DOES NOT ALWAYS mean she wants you to continue complimenting her or that she already knew she rocked.
Sometimes it means that she does not see it within herself, therefore she cannot believe anyone would think she rocks.

I speak from experience and can give many real life examples:

A kid walks up to me and says I look nice today. My eyes widen, I panic for a second because I never would have thought someone would say something like that, and I stutter a bit because I can't think of anything to say.
The kid either repeats himself because he thinks I want to hear it again or he walks away thinking why can't I take a simple compliment.

I panic because I don't think I look nice so I am in disbelief when someone tells me I look okay.

Got it?

It's not that complicated.

Sure, girls and boys go out there looking specifically for compliments, but sometimes they can't take a compliment simply because they are caught off guard because they don't see what the other person sees.
I hope this helped explain why some of us out there cannot take a compliment.
It's not because we're looking for more, it's because we don't see it.
This being said, I want to tell everyone out there that they are beautiful inside and out and I mean it. I really do.

Also- this only applies to some people. Don't go around jumping to conclusions. That's bad. Very bad.

p.s.
If any of you reading this are like me, when someone compliments you and you have no idea how to react, just say "thank you" and smile. It's easy! The complimenter didn't have to compliment you, therefore they are being sincere so DO NOT OVER THINK IT. Just say thank you :)

Rock on.

Halloween

Oh wow. Been a while....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Oh that was lame...

That's better.

Happy Halloween, guys!

I hope no demons possessed your souls!

Funny story-

I actually went around throwing salt and chips (because salt) at my friends to make sure they weren't possessed!

No one ever was possessed but I had to make sure.
I'm sure you understand my concern.

For Halloween this year I was an original design of
Maleficent
And I made my costume over the course of a month and let me tell ya...
I loved it

Here I am posing with a lovely Captain Jack Sparrow!!!
MORE PICTURES SOON TO FOLLOW

It was a wonderful evening! I even won a costume contest! WHOOP WHOOP!!!

And to anyone out there who thinks they're too old to dress up.
Remember I dress in costumes AS MY JOB.

You are NEVER too old to rock a different look.

Speaking of which, let's look at some new costumes of mine!

Pirates rule.

 Little Mermaid!

Wife of Bath
(Canterbury Tales)

Pirate again!

Legit these were all fairly recent so whenever you get the chance to dress up:
TAKE IT

Whenever I wear a costume I always feel like:

You all know my rant about costumes being a bit too revealing and how much I don't like it.
Here are some of my personal favorites that I do not even understand:

HEY! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN???

A SEXY BODY BAG!

SEXY WATERMELON!

SEXY TRAIN CONDUCTOR!

SEXY BANANA!

SEXY POTATO!

SEXY LIME!

SEXY PILGRIM!
SEXY WOOKIE!

SEXY STORMTROOPER!

And now for the part I truly don't understand...
COMPLETELY UNPRACTICAL SEXY OCCUPATIONAL COSTUMES!

I'm sorry-
Your body would explode if you went to space like that.

I'm sorry-
You would burn.
I'm sorry-
We couldn't even count the number of cuts and splinters you'd get if you chopped down trees like that.

Okay...can we just look at this for a second...

WHY?

For more check out this website:

Well-
That's about it for Halloween.
Can't wait for next year!!!

Improve Your Life

Ten Ways To Improve Your Life
By:
Dinosaurs and Pixie Dust

1. Be enthusiastic about something!

2. Watching a movie? DRESS UP.
(Disney Pixar theme pictured)

3. Always say "I'm with the band."
Funny story. These ladies were characters in Disney on Mainstreet and they were talking to me and some band kids about how excited they were to see the marching band that day and even though we told them fifty times that we're with the band, they just kept dancing around us.
I love Disney.

Here we are...with the band...although we're a huge blur of PANTHER PRIDE!

4. Dance
(pictured are some of my various dance moves)

5. Have a schtick
(Dinosaurs is mine!)

6. Don't be afraid to be nonsensical
(real word!)

7. Try looking through a new perspective

8. Make someone else smile

Ordered these burritos/burrito bowls from Chipotle.
Each one had an Avenger on it!
(I had Loki. Because he's the best.)

Went outside to do a photo shoot and some kids across the street got really excited to see a fairy!

9. Have an opinion
ORIGINAL= BETTER

.
.
.

10. BE FEARLESS

But hey,
these are only some suggestions.

It's your life.
